Please join the CFPC’s Health Professional Educators Group in Family Medicine (HPEG-FM) on November 5, 2021, from 3pm-4pm ET for their annual community event titled ‘What's Missing in EDI Initiatives? Novel Approaches from the Racialized Resident Community’ presented by Dr. Shayna Henry and Dr. Anjali Menezes.
In 2020, Drs. Anjali and Henry co-founded the Racialized Residents at McMaster (RRAM) group with a focus on peer support for racialized residents, mentorship from racialized staff physicians, support for residents facing mistreatment due to race/ethnicity, and engagement in advocacy work, on behalf of racialized residents, with PGME at McMaster.

Dr. Shayna Henry
Dr. Shayna Henry completed her Honours BSc in Biology in 2012 followed by her MSc in Global Health in 2014, both at McMaster University. She went on to complete her MB BCh BAO in 2019 at University College Cork in Ireland, and recently completed her Family Medicine residency at McMaster in 2021.
Dr. Anjali Menezes
Recent Family Medicine Residency graduate, Dr. Anjali Menezes is a current PGY3 in Academic Family Medicine resident at Western University. As a second-generation immigrant, with a master’s in clinical education, Dr. Anjali uses her positionality to study the impacts of racism and racialization on academic and career progression for diverse medical learners and physicians.
